Queensland Banana Plastic Credits

The Results

These credits stem from a successful pilot project in Far North Queensland, a collaborative effort between GreenCollar, MAMS Group, and the Australian Banana Growers Council. Following the Plastic Waste Reduction Standard’s third-party audit, the project has been granted Plastic Credits. This Standard, established in February 2021 to address global plastic waste, is part of the 3R Initiative, developed in partnership with Verra, a leading environmental standards organization. Notably, this marks the world’s second registered project of its kind.
